It is well known that our valley has some of the worst dialup speeds
imagineable. In some areas of town, some folks can only achieve a
connection at 9600 baud while the average is a max speed of 28.8.
This is due to many factors such as older phone lines that have
deteriorated etc.. These speeds quickly deteriorate during rains
or for a week or more when the weather switches to extreme hot or
extreme cold in the winter. All these factors lead to a very hard
time surfing the net on dialup in Pahrump.

As you probably already know, there are other options such as high
speed broadband service provided by Air
Internet. However, this service though extremely fast is a bit more
costly and for some it's just too much service. Especially for those
folks that occasionally surf the net and use it mainly for email. For this
reason, we have decided to offer our hot spot service to dialup customers
that can reach one of our hotspots. For the same price you are paying
today for your dialup we can offer you faster speed without tying up your
phone line.

In order to utilize this service, you must have a computer equipped with
wifi access and be able to see our hot spot network on your computer.
It will show up in your available wireless networks as PAHRUMPNET.
If you cannot see this network you cannot use the service at this time.
